Message 4: Saved From the World
The course of the world is like a river that you’re floating down. There’s an age or course to the world that we all are just in. The whole world lies in the power of the evil one (1 John 5:19) and he can just do whatever he wants. The world has three different aspects: sinful aspect, material aspect, and a religious aspect; these are all the things that we are just floating around in, and affected by. But we were chosen out of the world and overcome the world. But we aren’t meant to be taken out of the world, but to be kept from the evil one. God crucified us with Christ and this is what saves us and keeps us out of the effects of the world!
Ephesians 2:2a - "in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world"1 John 5:4-5 - "For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world - our faith. Who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?"
